Modern Slavery Statement
Forestdale Removals Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the actions taken by Forestdale Removals to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. Forestdale Removals is committed to conducting business ethically, transparently, and in full compliance with applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human rights.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Forestdale Removals has a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, human trafficking, and any other form of exploitation. We do not tolerate such practices within our own operations or within the activities of any party that supplies goods or services to us.
This commitment applies to all employees, agency workers, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. We expect all those who work with us or on our behalf to share our values, comply with relevant legislation, and actively support the prevention of modern slavery.
Our Supply Chain and Risk Management
Forestdale Removals works with a range of suppliers and service providers, including vehicle and equipment providers, packaging and materials suppliers, facilities and maintenance partners, and labour providers. We recognise that modern slavery risks may arise at different points in these supply chains, particularly where there are complex subcontracting arrangements or lower-wage labour.
We assess our risk exposure by considering the type of goods and services procured, the location of suppliers, and the use of subcontracted labour. Where a higher risk is identified, we increase the level of due diligence and engagement, and we may decide not to proceed with or to discontinue a relationship where concerns cannot be adequately resolved.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers to operate in accordance with our ethical standards and applicable modern slavery legislation. Our procurement and onboarding processes require suppliers, where appropriate, to confirm that they have their own policies and controls in place to prevent modern slavery.
Forestdale Removals conducts supplier audits and reviews on a risk basis. These may include reviewing supplier policies and procedures, requesting information on workforce practices, and, where necessary, carrying out site visits or requiring documentary evidence to verify compliance. If a supplier fails to meet our expectations, we will seek corrective action within a defined timeframe. Where issues are serious or remain unresolved, we will consider suspending or terminating the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Forestdale Removals encourages a culture of openness and integrity. All employees, workers, and suppliers are encouraged to raise any concerns they may have about modern slavery, human trafficking, or unethical labour practices in our operations or supply chains.
Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels, including to line managers or senior management, or through any established whistleblowing arrangements within the business. Reports can be made confidentially, and we will take all concerns seriously, investigate them promptly, and take appropriate action. We will not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks throughout our business. Relevant staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement, operations, and supplier management, are provided with guidance on recognising the signs of modern slavery and understanding our reporting processes and expectations.
We will continue to develop our training and awareness activities so that our people are equipped to identify potential risks and respond appropriately if concerns arise.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Forestdale Removals recognises that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to continually improving our policies, procedures, and controls in response to emerging risks, best practice guidance, and feedback from stakeholders.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure it remains effective and up to date. As part of this review, we will consider the outcomes of supplier audits, any reported incidents or concerns, and the effectiveness of our training and awareness activities. Where improvements are identified, we will update our processes and communicate any changes to relevant parties.
This statement has been approved by the management of Forestdale Removals and represents our continuing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
